SILICON FOREST
Silicon Forest is a body of work inspired by Oregon’s semiconductor industry, a region defined by chip manufacturing, wafer production, and modular engineering systems.
The series translates the structural language of semiconductor fabrication into physical form. Circular compositions reference silicon wafers. Repetition echoes modular component systems. Metallic and mineral surfaces reflect industrial processes operating at microscopic scale.
The use of cardboard as structural support introduces deliberate contrast. A humble, fragile material carries forms inspired by one of the most technologically advanced industries in the world. Precision and imperfection coexist. Sophisticated systems are reinterpreted through raw, accessible matter.
Silicon Forest examines the unseen infrastructures that sustain contemporary life and repositions them within a material, human scale.
